PETITION TO OPPOSE HOLLYWOOD CASINO MORGANTOWN
IN CAERNARVON TWP
WHEREAS, legislators were given hours to examine it the massive 936 page gambling expansion bill before voting on it,
WHEREAS, there was NO public demand, NO public hearings and NO public input, and
WHEREAS, Penn National has proposed a so called “mini” casino with 750 slot machines, 30 table games, a full sports betting lounge plus room for 10 additional slot machines, a restaurant, entertainment lounge & food court, and
WHEREAS, there is a “protective” area for a casino which bans a so called “mini” casino from encroaching another casino in a 25 mile radius, and
WHEREAS, we, the undersigned, live in municipalities which have banned so called “mini” casinos within the very brief time limit given (two months) to take that step, and we are within 25 miles from the proposed site of Penn National’s targeted venue, we insist that the same consideration be given to us as to gambling interests, and
THEREFORE, we are opposed to this gambling venue and ask that the license application be rejected.
